Creating an fun retro old-school vibe.
The Upstairs Saloon is a bar attached to a bowling alley, both located above several shops and restaurants in the trendy neighborhood of Lawrenceville. They prided themselves on having maintained their old-school vintage vibe including original wood paneling and exposed brick. Many of their weekly specials are themed around retro decades from the 50s to the 90s.
I worked with the owner at the time to create a new bar menu and catering menu that reflected a fun retro vibe.
The logo was to give the feel of nostalgia of a 1960s sitcom. The bowling ball is meant to be reminiscent of a moon alluding to its lively nightlife entertainment.
